MD Martial Arts NewsGet Training!
I first began studying martial arts with Sifu Marc Davis back in 1994 at the age of 15. I initially went to Sifu Marc’s classes looking for a teacher, but I am now proud and honoured to say that along the way I have also found a life mentor and a friend. I can say that Sifu Marc’s teachings of both the martial arts and of life has largely shaped the person I am today, and for that I am truly grateful. Prior to finding Sifu Marc I had already been training in karate for 10 years. However, I had gotten to a stage where I could not learn anything new from my current teachers. So this began my journey to look for a teacher and a martial arts system that was not only powerful and extremely effective but also to find a teacher who could truly impart the knowledge and skills I was looking for. After visiting several karate schools I also tried various styles and martial arts systems, including Tiger Crane, Lau Gar and Jiu Jitsu. I started to feel that perhaps what I was looking for only really existed in the movies and was becoming somewhat despondent. After seeing a small black and white poster advertising a martial arts system in a shop one day that I almost missed, I decided to go and check it out. At the first class, I met Sifu Marc and experienced first hand the incredible power and lightening speed that he possesses and was immediately impressed. As time went by I also began to realise that Sifu Marc has a depth of knowledge and understanding of the martial arts and the human body that I had never come across before. Speaking as a person who has trained in many styles of martial arts and also met and trained with countless teachers both in the UK and throughout Asia, I can honestly say that Sifu Marc is without doubt the best I have ever come across. He is a true warrior who embodies completely what it means to be a martial artist.
